The Presidential Prerogative

Three weeks to Bikedemonium!  The Bloomin' Temple Bike Ride is on April 18 and the club needs your help.  Please volunteer in some capacity on the day of the event or in the days leading up to it.  This is going to be a great event and it provides the club with the resources it needs to go out and serve the community.

There will be a Whistle Stop work day on Saturday starting at 8:00.  The city is coordinating this but I think it would be great if Rotarians were involved as well.  The playground is a wonderful asset to our city and is next to our Rotary Centennial park.

Temple Rotary South is trying to decide on a new meeting location.  If you plan on making up at their club, please take note of these dates and locations.

April 6- Clem Mikeska's

April 13- Imperium Club

April 20- World Art Food

April 27- Marriot Residence Inn

Last Week's Meeting

MegatravelMembers of the club seemed to enjoy the program on travel at last week's meeting.  The ladies of Megatravel certainly know their stuff, although the "blackout" curtains on the windows made for a certain melancholy to fall over the room.  I'm sure most folks probably drifted off to thoughts of the last vacation they were on and understood that they were no longer in that place last Thursday.  Even though Wildflower served us dishes with an international flair, chicken lasagna and stuffed bell peppers lose something in the translation.

We also learned that although most media outlets will report something completely different, it actually is safe to travel to Mexican resorts.  Even though the Mexican government seems to be imploding and around every corner there is a member of a drug cartel with a rusty machete... unless the wait staff at Carlos and Charlie's forms a coup, it is still margarita time!

Speaking of Mexico, please thank Judy Duer for travelling to Monterrey with her husband, John on behalf of the club.  Gracias!
