The Presidential Prerogative

After a week of computer glitches, the Rotatips is back up and running.  First, let me thank Rosemary and Judy for all the work they did on the Brazilian GSE team visit.  The two of you are phenominal and the visit was flawless.  Also, thanks to the host families for opening your homes to the team.  Finally, a thank you to Jonathan and Jennifer Graham for hosting a great party!  I hope we didn't leave the house too sticky.

 Brazilian GSE Team

We ended our Paul Harris Fellowship matching funds drive and I'm happy to announce that the club has raised an even $5000!  David Yeilding spearheaded this effort and took it above all expectations.  Thank you, David!  I will say that what took us over the top was the $100 winning bid for the "Gersbach Glamour " photo made by His Coolness, Don Gidden at last week's meeting.  Dr. Macey supplied the photo of the young, dapper Leland from his priceless collection of Temple Rotary relics.

Nancy Glover, regretfully resigned from the club last week.  Her work load had increased dramatically with the city's tourism department and she needed to devote more time to it.  We will miss Nancy, but certainly wish her the best.

The Valle Family, Barbara Bozon and the Dunn duo travel to the district conference the weekend in Bastrop.  Word on the street is that we will be honoring Steve Rublee with a place on the District 5870 "Roll of Fame."  A full report will follow.

This Week's Meeting

On Thursday, Bruce Butscher is presenting a program on water conservation.  That reminded me... I should have turned that sprinkler off this morning.

New Member Proposal

Jack Jones has proposed Mark Smith for membership.  Mark is vice-president of Educational Services at Temple College.  His classification would be "Community College Administration."  This is the first reading.
