She is currently staying with the Rublees, but will move to Mary’s home later this year. Marie gave an informative presentation of “My Belgium,” a personal look at her world.  View

Sebek Name Oct 5, 2006 ROTD Jonathan Graham Brought Us “The City of Temple Solid Waste Program” Through Lisa Sebek Lisa Sebek, one of the few women leaders in the Waste Disposal field, presented the new City of Temple’s Brush and Bulk Item Program. Passed recently by the City Council, the program sets some rules and regulations for Temple residents to adhere to in their trash pickup.  View

Rotary Meeting Sep 7, 2006 ROTD Kim Carden Introduces Kim Langston, “S & W Continuing Care Hospital” Kim Langston, newly-appointed Administrator of Scott and White’s Continuing Care Hospital (CCH), gave us the lowdown on her new venture. Called an “LTACH,” or Long Term Acute Care Hospital, it is under construction at S&W’s West Campus and scheduled to open May 1, 2007.  View 
Bryce Monsen, THS Football Coach Aug 31, 2006 ROTD Keith Odom Introduces Bryce Monsen, THS Football Coach. Coach Monsen gave us a rousing speech on Wildcat Football! His enthusiasm for the assistant coaches and students was catching. He opened his speech repeating a quote from an older Wildcat fan “We’ve got nowhere to go but up!” And then he proceeded to explain just how he was going to accomplish that goal.  View 
2006 100% Dinner Aug 25, 2006 100% a success: The Three Temple clubs gathered at Sammons on Friday and enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Jack and his able assistant, Danny. Thanks to them both and to all who made the event a memorable one.  View

District Governor Jim Osbon and his wife Brenda came to our club for the official annual DG visit. Rotary Meeting Aug 10, 2006 Rotary District 5870 Governor Jim Osbon makes his annual visit and gives us our goals. District Governor Jim Osbon and his wife Brenda came to our club for the official annual DG visit. Jim came from a military background and was in the hotel restaurant business for 35 years and was a youth sports coach for many years. He became a Rotarian in 1997 and has had perfect attendancesince then. Brenda is also a Rotarian and all members of their family are Paul Harris fellows.  View

Mary Irving Rotary Meeting ROTD Mary Irving Tells us “the rest of the story” on Temple, Texas “Temple, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly” proved to be a very funny alternate history of Temple. Mary shared such stories as the sport “ratting”, where men and boys (she’s convinced women were too smart to participate in this sport!) caught rats in live traps, brought these rats and their dogs (yes, rats have their own dogs) to the downtown city square, let all the rats loose, and urged their dogs to catch as many rats as possible.  View
